Decoding the Mystery of Skoda Dashboard Warning Lights

Skoda cars are loaded with a lot of sensors and safety mechanisms to make your driving experience safe. When a warning light starts blinking on the dashboard, it can be a daunting experience. If you are unsure how to deal with Skoda dashboard lights, here is a guide to help you out.

There are three colours of light that determine the working condition of the particular system.

Red: The system is at a major fault and needs immediate attention.

Yellow: An action is required for the particular system.

Green: The working condition is absolutely fine.

The Skoda warning lights are just a way how your car can communicate with you regarding different systems. Since the owner needs to decode it, here are all the available symbols.

Brake System:

The brake system is an essential part of the vehicle that needs to be in perfect condition to keep everyone safe. Look whether the handbrake is applied. If yes, release the handbrake as it is the reason why your brake system warning light is blinking.

When the light disappears, you can continue driving. However, if not so, monitor your brake fluid level and fill it accordingly. You can also look for a brakes repair service nearby.

Engine Cooling System:

Switch off the engine as soon as possible once the engine cooling system warning light appears on your Skoda dashboard. Make sure you do not drive further.

Check the coolant level and contact a car repair service nearby. If the coolant level is low, add more to it.

Your car can overheat due to a cooling system malfunction. Before you open the hood, ensure that the temperature has gone down to avoid any burns or injury.

Engine Oil Pressure:

Once the engine oil pressure warning light starts to blink, turn off the engine immediately. Do not restart and check the oil level. If the level is fine, seek help from a professional.

In case the oil level is low, fill it up accordingly. Once done, start the engine and let it run for a few seconds. Switch the engine off.

If the Skoda dashboard light is still on, call for a car repair service.

Power Steering Light:

Remove the ignition key for about 30 seconds. Restart the engine again. If the warning light disappears, it means that the problem has been fixed. If not, seek help from a professional. Make sure you drive safely to the authorised service centre.

Airbag & Seat Belt System:

To maintain safety, it is essential to have a perfectly working airbag and seatbelt system.

If the light tends to blink, make sure to drive carefully to your nearest service provider. Ignoring this fault will affect you when it comes to road safety.

However, if it doesn’t you will need to seek help from the professionals as it is a matter of safety. You should not ignore it for safety reasons.

Vehicle Charging System:
